As usual we started with a breakfast at the hostel. Then we went to meet Natalie Sapir for a guided tour about Jewish life in Berlin. The tour started with the past, when the first Jewish people came to Berlin, went through the times of the holocaust and ended in the present with an outlook to the future. During the walk, we stopped at the Otto-Weidt-museum, learning about oppression of the NAZI-regime and the new Synagogue, listening to interesting stories . For me (Khulood) the most important were the stumping stones, representing Jewish people who lived in Berlin and their story. It was very interesting and very emotional, but I (Julia) for myself felt oppressiveness in the air. After some decisions we chose a very good Indian restaurant for lunch. After Lassi, rice and curry, some of us visited the East-side Gallery, wich was amazing. A lot of history and some peace. After four days of program in the city we spent time at the “Rummelsburger Buch”t in Kreuzberg-Friedrichshain going birding and enjoying nature. Goshawk, nightingale and little ringed plover are just a small variety two young NABU-members from the local group showed to us. Then we visited Hanna and her family, where we had self-cooked real German “Spätzle” for dinner. That was really good, but also we felt the warm and good atmosphere. After this day full of colors we went to sleep.
